Claire Lowson was born in North Yorkshire. She studied in York and Cambridge, travelled in Asia and the USA, and worked in France before starting a life in education in London.
Teaching English and Drama, Claire developed creative ways of developing confidence and self-esteem alongside academic prowess. She researched right brain thinking and approaches that access the subconscious mind, exploring a range of techniques that developed throughout later projects.
In 1998, Claire joined Brand Experience agency, Imagination. Developing content for BT’s Talk Zone in the Millennium Dome, the project combined story-telling, communication, education and entertainment and founded a long interest in storytelling, the narrative environment and brand.
In 2002, sponsored by Imagination, Claire completed her MA in Design at Central St Martin’s, researching the impact of interior environments on our health and well-being.
In 2004, Claire co-founded a new consultancy, generating creative approaches to serving customer and employee needs, working with Lloyds TSB, the BBC and Credit Suisse. She lectured in experiential design and worked on two residential interior projects.
Over the following years, she built a strong network, meeting John Pawson and absorbing the philosophy behind his architecture, and exploring experiences around the globe, from retail concepts across Europe, Russell Wright’s house in Manitoga, and contemporary brands such as Dover Street Market and Petersham Nurseries. Immersing herself in new experiences informs the variety and flexibility of her approach to business. And the corporate work that has largely followed.
Claire works with brands and agencies that share her passion for bringing great ideas to life. She has worked with Imagination, Minale Tattersfield, Hill and Knowlton, Involve, Ignite, Abrahams, Silver Leopard, Bisqit, Clerkenwell Associates and Tileywoodman, for clients such as Barclays, Royal Bank of Scotland, BT, BBC, TfL, UAL, T-Mobile, Aviva and GSK.
A life-long yoga practitioner, Claire is passionate about what really matters. The principle of balance and connection informs how she lives her life and work. She believes in creating quality experiences that enhance the day-to-day, connect us to each other, and build a forward momentum of positive action and reaction.
